I thought DC Talk was creative and did some really great stuff. When I was first saved in the 90's I loved Christian music because it offered something DIFFERENT than what was on the radio, not just message wise but music wise. Now everyone wants to sound the same. Uuuuggg God wants us to use creativity to honor Him, to do or best, to be who we are made to be, not carbon copies. I think all the solo careers of DC Talk members have value and merit in their own way. Kevin Max was always deep and his lyrics pure poetry. When I want music I can dance or workout to I choose Newsboys or Toby Mac. Kevin Max however is who I got to for something raw and real. Artists are often struggling to make ends meet. MY poetry and short stories will not put food on the table. If Kevin Max is is able to live off his art past or present this puts him in the fortunate minority.
