I noticed that some commenters have said that by not challenging racism that Elvis was complicit in it. In the early days Elvis regularly ate the the "coloured" area in eateries. He attended the annual fair on "coloured" night. I think that even these couple of examples show that he did challenge the institutionalised racism of the time.

He wasn't a person who spoke out on any topic but music. He didn't feel that was his place. He was "just an entertainer". He just lived a non-racist life. Some people just want to believe nothing but bad stuff about people who happen to be born a different colour.
