I'd be happy to see Atlanta better support small businesses and restaurants. But as a suburbanite, may I humbly suggest that more indie restaurants take a look at opening in places other than within Atlanta city limits?

Many local cities would welcome them with open arms and with much less bureaucracy than the city of Atlanta (not to mention plentiful free parking).

There's a huge lack of moderately priced, unique, chef-driven places in at least the OTP north Fulton areas I'm familiar with.

What bugs me is when I see indie restaurants that have nothing unique about them -- nothing that contributes to a local-neighborhood kinda feel. Basically, these are restaurants that are indie but feel like national chains because they have such a bland atmosphere and no specific sense of place.
