The same ID they want you to show to vote is the same one you need to purchase beer, cigaretttes, spray paint, get on an airplane, obtain food stamps, get an SSI check, cash any check anywhere...

The only people it could possibly effect must live so far off the grid, that chances are they don't vote anyway! And if they wanted to vote, they could on a provisoinal ballot which will be counted after your indentity is confirmed.
