Best place to meet anyone from Craigslist to buy small items: Inside a crowded mall or at a bank.

Best place to buy large items: Inside a busy parking lot where you pay the attendent to get in.

But keep in mind: If its electronics, jewelry etc and it sounds too good to be true its probably either hot or junk.
