A System of Interiority

When: Wednesdays-Saturdays, 12-5 p.m. Continues through Feb. 15 2014
Price: Free
Get This! Gallery presents Gyun Hur’s A System of Interiority, a collaborative installation with lighting designer Rebecca Makus and writers Kristin Juarez, Lilly Lampe, and Ruiyan Xu. Hur is known for her floor installations that comprise hand-shredded silk flowers, and in A System of Interiority, Hur uses powders, silk flowers, dirt, and broken pots to explore ideas of interiors. The installations are presented on multiple platforms around the gallery, including a cement floor, glass floor, and a light panel, while the writers’ text appears on the gallery walls. Guests are encouraged to experience the installation over time as the light changes, which is an “essential part of perception and understanding of surroundings.” Join Hur for an artist talk on Sat., Jan. 4, at 11 a.m. An opening reception takes place that night at 7 p.m.
