You'd be hard-pressed to find a more purely beautiful and charming show in town this month than the sublime pairing of painter William Steiger and Toni Hafkenscheid currently on view at Marcia Wood Gallery in Castleberry Hill. New Yorker Steiger is mad for the fairground Wonder Wheel rides, sturdy railway cars and honest barns. In his pared-down, color-infused work, these become icons of industry and poems of ideal form. And Toronto-based Hafkenscheid's dreamy photographs (right) of ideally blue skies and sunny days give his construction sites and small towns the look of model railroad landscapes. Free. Tues.-Sat., 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Through Dec. 3. 263 Walker St. 404-827-0030. www.marciawoodgallery.com.
