Cost: $10

From the venue:

Some people may never be struck by poverty. Others can’t escape it. On Mon., Sept. 15, at 6:30 p.m., the Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation will try to kick-start the conversation in Atlanta with a screening of American Winter, an award-winning HBO film that profiles eight families living in poverty, at Landmark Midtown Art Cinema. The film explores how budget cuts to social services have sent ripple effects throughout the country. A panel discussion with the film’s director, Atlanta Community Food Bank President and veteran local activist Bill Bolling, and other community leaders and experts follows.
