Atlanta is gaining a reputation as a bastion of punk-inspired experiments and anarchic rock 'n' roll, and Gavin Frederick (pictured) is as responsible for it as anyone. Since the '90s, his label, Stickfigure Distribution, has put out records by Deerhunter, Snowden and a slew of lesser-known but equally agitated bands. This year's annual STICKFIGURE SHOWCASE features four nights of local acts from Wed.-Sat., JAN. 24-27, at the Drunken Unicorn. Headliners include S.I.D.S. on Wednesday, Blame Game on Thursday, Zandosis on Friday and One Hand Loves the Other on Saturday. $5. 9 p.m. 736 Ponce de Leon Place. 404-752-7399. www.thedrunkenunicorn.net.
