Art on the BeltLine Lantern Parade

When: Sat., June 26, 8:30 p.m. 2010
Price: Free
The Krewe of the Grateful Gluttons lights the way along the east side of the Beltline corridor as part of Art on the BeltLine: Atlanta's New Public Place, a temporary public art project with more than 40 pieces scattered about the 22-mile loop of historic rail. The procession begins with the full moon at the corner of Irwin and Krog streets and ends with a drink at Park Tavern in Piedmont Park, hailing points of interest along the way. If you missed the Krewe's free lantern-making workshops last week, you aren't doomed to exclusion and darkness -- just bring anything that gives off light. The parade doesn't officially take off until 9 p.m., but tailgating and lineup start at 8 p.m. See full exhibit schedule at
