Assemblage: A culture shock event

When: Sat., Jan. 19, 8 p.m. 2013
Price: $5-$15
Hard Truths: The Art of Thornton Dial is a rare kind of retrospective. It's a sprawling, monumental look back at the career of a self-taught artist from Alabama who, even at the age of 84, is still creating and responding to the world today. The High Museum will host its latest Culture Shock party, Assemblage, on Sat., Jan. 19, at 8 p.m. to celebrate the Dial exhibition and Fast Forward: Modern Moments 1913>>2013 with performances by artist and musician Lonnie Holley, Cole Alexander of the Black Lips, and more.
