The Atlanta Ballet’s Nutcracker returns to the Fox Theatre on Fri., Dec. 6. The performance is an annual holiday tradition and presents a contemporary take on the classic tale, with Artistic Director John McFall each year adding a new touch to the show. “America’s Got Talent” finalist and master illusionist Drew Thomas returns to add illusions and special effects to the show. This year, Thomas will perform his magic on stage during the first two weekends of the run, Dec. 6-15, taking on the role of Herr Drosselmeyer, the mysterious toymaker who brings the story to life. The Atlanta Ballet Orchestra, led by principal guest conductor Gary Sheldon, and the Georgia Youth Choir will return for all performances.
