Baroness, True Widow

When: Wed., May 29, 8 p.m. 2013
Price: $16-$18
On 2012's Yellow & Green, Savannah-by-way-of-Virginia quartet Baroness broadens the parameters of its prog-metal sound, creating a sprawling document by turns pastoral ("Green Theme"), aggressive ("Take My Bones Away"), and majestic ("Cocainium"). "Sea Lungs" and "March to the Sea" even conjure the arena-rock ambition of Muse, interspersed with echoes of Mastodon. The band returns with new rhythm section Sebastian Thomson and Nick Jost, following a bus accident last year that resulted in several injuries.
