Benefit: 500 Songs for Kids

Thurs.-Sat., April 29-May 8

As VH1's Save the Music dwindles down, other foundations benefiting children through music are taking over. Atlanta's Songs for Kids Foundation hosts 500 SONGS FOR KIDS, an annual charity event that brings together musicians to cover songs from the chosen theme, the 500 Greatest Era-Defining Songs of All Time. Past performers include Cee-Lo, Gavin Degraw, Arrested Development and Shawn Mullins. You have 10 days to see every genre represented in one spot. Do it for the kids. $10. Thurs.-Sat., 6:45 p.m. Smith's Olde Bar, 1578 Piedmont Ave. 404-541-9231. www.songsforkidsfoundation.org.
