Sun., Aug. 9

No matter how you pronounce it, a tomato is a wonderful summer treat. The folks at Georgia Organics couldn't agree more. The organization has gathered a team of chefs, mixologists and local farmers to prepare an array of creative tomato dishes and drinks for ATTACK OF THE KILLER TOMATO FESTIVAL. Participating chefs include Billy Allin of Cakes & Ale, Shaun Doty of Shaun's, Joe Truex of Repast, Anne Quatrano of Abattoir and many more. Two of three local chefs gracing the small screen in the sixth season of "Top Chef," Hector Santiago of Pura Vida and Kevin Gillespie of Woodfire Grill, will also be on hand. Along with the crafty creations, chef demos and tastings, the Spazmatics will provide live entertainment. Must be 18 and up. $45-$90. 1-6 p.m. JCT Kitchen, 1198 Howell Mill Road, Suite 18. 404-702-0400. www.georgiaorganics.org.
