With a menu befitting a beer list that includes Blanche de Bruxelles and Franziskaner Dunkelweizen, THE PORTER has sophisticated but approachable noshes, as well as a fair dose of dishes that are suitable to the sloshed. Hush puppies are graced with applewood-smoked bacon and served with a side of Fuji applesauce. Calamari is fried along with lemon slices and jalapenños. The Caesar is served with white anchovies and a poached egg. Plump shrimp and sliced portobello laze on a bed of cheese grits — with a pillow of truffle oil.
