Best Bike Shop For the Uninitiated

The problem with many of the indie bike shops is you get the "you ain't hardcore" attitude unless you walk in covered in dried blood with a branch sticking out of your head. An exception to the rule is Atlanta Pro Bicycles on Highland Avenue, which has great customer service -- but, alas, a price range and fleet of serious bikes daunting to beginners. GALYAN'S TRADING CO., however, has a bike for every level of rider. Those just starting out can ride home after dropping just $250, one of the best prices for a bike in the city. Likewise, hardcore bikers -- whether long-distance street riders or shredding off-roaders -- can spend serious dough on the ultimate two wheels.

691 Ernest Barrett Parkway, Kennesaw, 770-281-0200, and other locations.
