Alright, alright. All that stuff we said about farmers market shopping was kind of rude, right? Fact is, we should feel good about purchasing our food from local farms and businesses, but, often times, it only serves as a supplement to a trip to the big, bad grocery store. Shy of light bulbs and paper towels, the Peachtree Road Farmers Market at the Cathedral of St. Philip in Buckhead has nearly all the weekly necessities. Goodies include breads by H&F Bread Co. (Gina and Linton Hopkins of Holeman & Finch are the market's founders), AtlantaFresh Creamery yogurts, Batdorf & Bronson coffee, and Decimal Place Farm's cheeses, as well as produce from a slew of local farmers. And even though the market starts shutting down at noon, it's also a great place for an early lunch from Souper Jenny or the Crepe Masters' booths. Or you could just fill up on free samples. Shopping — and snacking — with a conscience. Nothing wrong with that. 2744 Peachtree Road. 404-365-1078. peachtreeroadfarmersmarket.com.
