Best Ignored Comeback by a Local

R&B / nu-soul / funk love man TONY RICH really seemed like he was going to outlast his allotted 15 minutes as staff writer at LaFace, with a universally hailed 1995 debut followed by a solid 1998 sequel. But then the bottom dropped out and, after disappearing for five years, he returned last July with a sturdy, incredibly well-crafted new disc -- appropriately titled Resurrected. It was promptly greeted with a collective shrug only slightly less enthusiastic than what a new Boyz II Men album might elicit. He deserves better, especially from his ATL homies.
