Sherman might've burned the joint, but it was the automobile that truly destroyed Atlanta. Led by local architect Jeff Morrison, the UNSEEN UNDERGROUND WALKING TOUR is a two-and-a-half mile, three-hour retrospective of the city's railroad roots — and how a fixation with the automobile and neglect of the city's history combined to lead Atlanta astray. Armed with historical photos and a noggin filled with knowledge, Morrison leads small groups under downtown's viaducts and along the same routes where trains once roared and helped make Atlanta a powerhouse. Tours happen intermittently throughout year. www.preserveatlanta.com
