Best Local Blues Band / Artist

King Johnson
One could argue, persuasively, that King Johnson is not a blues band at all, but blues is in fact one of the band's core elements, along with funk, R&B and a fat dose of New Orleans spice. Further, KJ sprang from the blues club scene, performing frequently at Chip's in Winder and the Northside Tavern. From those roots, the band has evolved to create a singular identity and sound that supports witty, musically intriguing songwriting. The band's latest CD release, Luck So Strange, captures their unique attributes in all their glory.
