Even his detractors must admit that Mayor Kasim Reed has had a helluva year. His trips to Washington, D.C., have helped Atlanta and Georgia secure millions of dollars in federal grants for streetcars, highways and — fingers crossed — the expansion of Savannah's port. He made good on a campaign pledge to reform the city's costly pension system. He's solidified his fan base among the state's GOP leaders by helping Gov. Nathan Deal open doors in the Obama administration. And he's established his national profile with appearances on the Sunday morning news shows. Frankly, we can't wait to see what Reed does for a second act. kasimreed.com.
