Best off-the-street street food: Chai Pani

Staff Pick

We couldn't be happier that Asheville, N.C.'s Chai Pani decided to open a sister restaurant in Decatur. With its energetic Bollywood vibe, the neighborhood eatery feels right at home in the former Watershed space. Order a handful of Chai Pani's small plates and watch your table fill up with tasty treats like shoestring Bombay chili cheese fries piled with spiced lamb hash, flaky samosas stuffed with potatoes, or chicken sliders seasoned with cumin, cilantro, ginger, and mint. Absolutely do not miss the kale pakoras. The tufts of bitter greens are coated in smooth chickpea batter and fried to shattering perfection.
