gained notoriety after Rob Lowe, in town for the 1988 National Democratic Convention, was sued for videotaping his sexual exploits with an underage shampoo girl who worked at the hot-pink Marietta salon. Like in Lowe's heyday, Three 13 remains a virtual disco-den manned by pierced and tattooed stylists with a penchant for fluorescent hair dye and S&M-inspired garb. If anything, the Lowe scandal helped make this hip oasis in the bland desert of Cobb County even more popular with soccer moms and mallrats. Three 13 is a 25-year institution now, a high-quality, full-service salon that is the
place OTP to get current cuts and color, as well as massages, manicures, bikini waxes and makeovers. And its new digs one mile south of its former location are quite glamorous, in that nouveau riche
kind of way. Except for the moody, blue shampoo room, this isn't one of those serene, Zen-like salons where Enya tunes lull you into a stupor. Three 13 is all techno music and hot stylists that leave you feeling fabulous.
