Best Place to Hear Local Music

The Earl

488 Flat Shoals Ave.

If the Echo Lounge is East Atlanta's Agora Ballroom, then The Earl surely is the 688 Club of its time. The East Atlanta Restaurant and Lounge is a hip dive for showcasing a wealth of Atlanta's finest local hip-hop, country, noise and rock shows. If you don't like what you hear, have a drink or a burger at the front bar. The service is moody, the patrons are loud and the air usually is thick with smoke. At times the sound sucks and occasionally the bands suck, but quite often great things can happen.
