Best Place to Hear Local Music

Of all the fine local joints that support homegrown talent (as long as they're bringing in a crowd, of course), a trip to Midtown's APACHE CAFE offers your best bet you'll wind up hearing something better than unpolished dilettantes. Whether it's a crowd-pleaser like Whild Peach and Anthony David, the "Mic Club's" Tuesday-night cavalcade of rhymers or Wednesday's jam session, there's a good chance that -- if you have any taste at all for urban styles from old soul to new beats -- you'll like what you hear. And you won't find a more intimate and listener-friendly room.

64 3rd St., 404-876-5436. www.apachecafe.info/index.html
