For its sheer size, number of people and variety of social circles, there’s no better place than HARTSFIELD-JACKSON ATLANTA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT to gawk and fawn. Pick your spot – the airport’s MARTA platform, the cavernous Atrium, the tram, or any of the airport’s six terminals and 200 departure gates – and you’re sure to find someone to ogle. After all, Hartsfield boasts about 45 football fields’ worth of elbow room. There’s just something about soaking up the airport scene, even if you’re just meeting visitors at the landing atop the 44-foot-high escalators that lead to baggage claim. You can “see” with your ears, too – the unfamiliar languages, accents and the ubiquitous gate announcements all add to the allure.
