Shakespeare said "brevity is the soul of wit, and Atlanta's playwrights have been putting the adage to the test with a plethora of short, original play festivals and events, ranging from the accelerated creativity of "The 24-Hour Plays to the time constraints of 8 1/2 x 11 at Dad's Garage Theatre. Short form works provide ideal testing grounds for ideas or jokes, and if some efforts turn out to be lumps of coal, others prove to be real gems, like Karen Wurl's "Personal Care, or The Secret Life of the Proletariat at PushPush Theater's Christmas-themed Holiday on Thin Ice.
