Best Reason to Live in Atlanta

READERS' CHOICE

Weather
The vote for weather as the Best Reason to Live in Atlanta requires one caveat: No one could actually like our summers they're so brutally hot, humid and long. The trade-off, though, is really mild winters. But the best part of Atlanta's weather is undoubtedly spring. Between the months of March and May, there is no better place to be than in Atlanta where the warm air is tempered by cool breezes and everywhere you look, you're bombarded by the sight and scent of blooming dogwoods, tulip poplars, Bradford pears and jonquils.

CRITICS' CHOICE

Delta Airlines
Yeah, we all like the mild winters and friendly people, but the best thing about living in Atlanta is how damn cheap and easy it is to get the hell out of here. With Delta based in town, just about wherever you go, you can fly direct, and rates can be mind-boggling cheap -- especially if you join the Delta Escape Club (available only to residents of Atlanta and Cincinnati, and who wants to live there?), which offers dramatically discounted rates every weekend. $323 to Brussels? In the summer? Unbelievable!
