Best Reason to Live in/Leave Atlanta

The same thing that makes this city so exciting is the thing that makes it so forbidding: POTENTIAL. Look around at all the new construction in downtown and Midtown and Buckhead, from Decatur to the West End: Hey, in 10-15 years, Atlanta might have the densely populated inner core of an actual vibrant city. And with all the things that go with dense populations -- walking districts, mass transit, 24-hour amenities -- the city could truly become the cultural center it only hints at today. That is, if the next 10-15 years doesn't instead turn Atlanta into an environmental disaster area, bereft of clean water and air, endlessly sprawling and with no end to car congestion in sight.
