Best Restaurant Where You Wouldn't Expect One to Be 

The promising dining scene in long-gentrifying East Atlanta was fading fast until IRIS came along. There's a warm yet edgy sex appeal in the sleek space, a former filling station done over with copper and eggplant-colored walls. Chefs Nicolas Bour and Lein Schoe offer American bistro fare with a dulcet French accent. Perennial favorites include the pork tenderloin with mustard compote and the New York strip with sweet potato gratin. It's always amazing who you run into at this restaurant when you're both trying to flag down the bartender for a gin and tonic. Here's hoping other bold restaurateurs follow Iris' encouraging lead.
