With his paid gigs and his slick website, street character is no longer an apt title for Baton Bob. Hes a full-fledged local celeb now. For Gods sake, the man has a better Wikipedia entry than Creative Loafing does. Of Bobs street-character colleagues, none is more notorious, long-lived or as apparently well-endowed as WILLY TERRY, AKA BICYCLE SHORTS MAN. For 16 years, he has stood at the intersection of Briarcliff and Ponce, greeting passers-by with a smile, a wave and a glimpse of what appears to be an enormous penis visible through tight bicycle shorts. Hell probably never be Baton Bob-famous, but last year, Terry appeared in an online documentary short (filmed by an Emory student named Dan Resnick) viewed more than 60,000 times. Hes putting the tube back in YouTube.
