Best Unexpected Place to See Art

For the fourth summer in a row, curator Joey Orr has allowed artists to experiment and innovate by taking their work out of the usual gallery and museum context. SHEDSPACE matches Atlanta artists, some well known and some not, with a backyard outbuilding in both up-and-coming and established Atlanta neighborhoods. Every Saturday in August, an artist creates a site-specific work and the crowds flock to its one-night-only viewing like visitors to a fly-by-night speakeasy. The mix of highbrow and lowbrow is intoxicating.
