Beth T.

A quick look at Atlanta's fashion sense

A little jacket can go a long way, as Beth showed at Smith's Olde Bar.

Saltwater taffy tones, interwoven gold threads, and pearly bauble buttons gave this single girl's Anne Carson jacket plenty of vintage Vogue flair without making her look like a tired stack of faded magazines.

Better yet, it was a steal for $39.99 at a Chicago T.J. Maxx. "I had to get it," Beth says, "because I'd never seen anything like it in Atlanta, and certainly not at a T.J. Maxx!"

By day, the distinctive jacket can be more primly paired with a cream skirt and pumps, which Beth does for her IT job at Georgia Tech.

At night it's transformed, but without any ritzy fanfare. Simple Old Navy jeans and a matching Limited turtleneck made this a stand-out-while-you-sit-down ensemble for only $80, demonstrating cheap can be classic, and chic.
