Bright Eyes

When: Fri., March 4, 8 p.m. 2011
Price: $25
After a nearly three-year break from recording with Bright Eyes, Conor Oberst resurrects the group with a new album, The People's Key (Saddle Creek Records), that moves away from the jagged but pastoral inflections of Oberst's recent work to settle on a more tempered sound. Rock songwriting gets a boost from electronic textures and brittle pop tones that all seem to resonate with vaguely ethereal and Rastafarian undertones. Fellow Nebraskans Cursive open the show.
