CiCi Kelley

Dancer and owner of CK Productions

CiCi Kelley makes her living as a dancer -- but not like the ones you find in Magic City. Consequently, you won't catch her spinning around metal poles. If you peruse MTV or BET, however, you may see her dancing alongside some of your favorite music heavyweights.

Born and raised in Atlanta, Kelley attended North Atlanta High School and garnered local attention as a dancer on the public access TV show "The Underground Talent Mart."

Eventually, she went on to appear in music videos by OutKast ("Ghetto Musick") and LL Cool J ("Control Myself"), among many others. She contends, however, that she shouldn't be confused with a video vixen. "I try not to judge anyone, but I would opt to be more of a dancer than to just be in the video without any clothes," she says.

She recently started her own company, CK Productions, which seeks to shine a light on talented dancers in Atlanta. In September, her company will launch a choreographers' showcase titled "La Premier."

You can catch Kelley every Wednesday night at Dance 411 studios teaching the "Go-Go Stilettos" dance/exercise class. But (sadly) men aren't allowed. "They literally lock men out," Kelley says.

Kelley advises aspiring dancers to "humble yourself and stay in class. Don't just take hip-hop. Take ballet, etc. Be a versatile dancer."
