With I Am Gemini, Omaha, Neb.’s survivors of the Saddle Creek era Cursive prove that they are forging ahead while drawing strength from the 15 years the group’s core members have shared together. Through such songs as “This House Alive,” “Warmer Warmer,” and “Twin Dragon/Hello Skeleton,” frontman Tim Kasher and Co. have assembled yet another concept album that transcends the traditional devices of such prior albums as Domestica and The Ugly Organ, giving rise to a twisted and surprisingly potent trek into the gray areas that fill the gaps between histrionics, the avant-garde, and something that can only be called art-rock. Conduits and Cymbals Eat Guitars open the show. (Chad Radford)
