See & Do - Dance: I Prefer to Call It a Nudge April 19 2010

Thurs.-Sat., April 22-24

Each spring, the Emory Dance Company presents works choreographed by its own students. But this isn’t your little sister’s dance recital. Nine undergraduate dance makers create unusual fusions in I PREFER TO CALL IT A NUDGE, whether they mix Asian and Western cultures or a blend of everyday movements with moments of explosive choreography and karate. Set this against a wide music selection ranging from Kid Cudi to George Gershwin: Satisfaction guaranteed. $5-$10. Thurs.-Fri., 8 p.m.; Sat., 2 and 8 p.m. Schwartz Center for Performing Arts, 1700 N. Decatur Road. 404-727-5050. www.arts.emory.edu.
