See & Do - Dance: Radio City Christmas Spectacular November 13 2009

Fri., Nov. 20

An annual tradition since 1932, the RADIO CITY CHRISTMAS SPECTACULAR high-kicks it back to Atlanta after a four-year hiatus. The Radio City Rockettes have solidified themselves as a rich part of our nation’s history, tapping their way through memorable USO Tours during WWII and Super Bowl halftime, as well as performing in the annual Macy’s Day Parade. Known for their perfectly unified eye-high kicks and fresh-faced appeal, the Rockettes paint an old-school picture of the simpler times of Christmas past. But don’t be mistaken – it takes a cast and crew of more than 100 to stage each performance of the Spectacular, not to mention countless rehearsals to perfect the classics, including “The Parade of the Wooden Soldiers” and “The Living Nativity,” which date back to the dance group’s inception. Through Dec. 6. $25.50-$65.50. See website for dates and times. Fox Theatre, 660 Peachtree St. 404-881-2100. www.foxtheatre.org.
