CHARLOTTE, NC - September 3, 2012 - Roughly two dozen demonstrators marched around the city late Monday night trailed by hundreds of police on foot, in patrol cars, on motorcycles, on bicycles and in a helicopter. Marchers chanted a variety of chants as they marched, including, "Fuck the Police!," and "This is what a police state looks like," while yelling at passersby various things, mostly focused on their tax dollars being wasted on the gigantic police force that was mirroring the marchers every step.

Police surrounded the marchers blocking their paths with their bodies and with their bicycles whenever the marchers entered a residential area, this created several confrontations between marchers and police. As a result marchers were led by police to march down roads with few residential buildings. The marchers claimed they were only trying to get back their "camp."

At Marshall park in Charlotte's uptown neighborhood demonstrators are camped with the permission of the city. "This is pretty unscripted, " said marcher Eric Verlo as he marched down the street. Verlo who came to the DNC from Colorado said he came to protest against "two corporate parties that represent the same thing."

Their "camp" is a tent village at Marshall park in Charlotte's uptown neighborhood where demonstrators are camped with the permission of the city. The city is not enforcing a city ordinance which prohibits camping in the park and has even set up portable toilets next to the park for people camped in the park to use.The march ended with demonstrators arriving at the park and they were quickly blocked into the park by more then 100 officers and their bicycles.
