Dick Dale at The Earl
April 30, 2013
April 30, 2013 - Seventy-five-year-old California pioneer of the surf guitar, Dick Dale, rolled in to Atlanta with the storm Sunday night to a sold-out show at the Earl. With Sam Bolle on bass and Dusty Watson (Agent Orange) on drums, Dale showed no signs of slowing as he blistered through an ear-bleeding hour-and-a-half set that revealed why he is one of only three to receive the Guitar Player Legend Award. A packed house with an age range from 21 to 75 danced and screamed for more, and the band delivered.
James Freeman revived Atlanta's own El Capitan and the Band With No Name to open, and quickly showed the crowd why they are a local legend in their own right.
