Eight-time Grammy Award winner EDDIE PALMIERI (right) has solidified his role as a Latin jazz legend. His experience and vast recording résumé have placed him among such greats as Tito Puente, Celia Cruz, Dizzy Gillespie and Mongo Santamaria. Though he didn't blend his piano solos and compositions with jazz arrangements until 1962 (10 years into his career), Palmieri's group collaboration with trombone player Barry Rogers and lead singer Ismael Quintana in La Perfecta won him recognition as a major name both in jazz and salsa circles. Now, 40 years and almost as many albums later, Palmieri performs with La Perfecta II at the Rialto Center NOV. 18 to commemorate his 70th birthday and storied five-decade career. $36-$62. 8 p.m. 80 Forsyth St. 404-651-4727 www.rialtocenter.org.
