Did you know that the green, clay TV character Gumby starred in more than 200 episodes over 35 years, and that he first appeared on “Howdy Doody” in 1956? That the Block-Heads are his archnemeses? That creator and animator Art Clokey provided the voice of Pokey the Horse? Expand your knowledge of all things Gumby-related at ART CLOKEY’S GUMBY: THE FIRST 50 YEARS, a museum exhibit at the Center for Puppetry Arts. The exhibit opens with a screening of rare Gumby films and a Q&A with the Clokey family at 8 p.m. on AUG. 4. $6-$8.
