Starting Fri., JUNE 8, gardeners resigned to sitting by as their gardens thirst through the water bans may find a ray of hope at the seventh annual AVONDALE IN BLOOM. The event includes walking tours of neighborhood gardens, featuring perky perennials, azaleas, boxwoods, hydrangea and more. The three-day festival also showcases work by artists Allen Rodgers, Charles Scogins, Gail Novak and others, live music from local musicians, landscaping lectures, and an open-air market.
