Film: Martinis & IMAX

Fri., Jan. 15

After a monthlong hiatus, Fernbank's MARTINIS & IMAX revs up for a new year with weekly double-feature presentations of Van Gogh: Brush with Genius and the Academy Award-winning The Old Man and the Sea. Based on Ernest Hemingway's novel of the same name, The Old Man and the Sea is a paint-on-glass animated short film that sets sail on the deep blue frontier to follow a fisherman's struggle with an evasive, oversized marlin. Moviegoers can also enjoy a live DJ, cash bar and refreshments from Fernbank Café. Through March 31. $7-$12. Fridays, 6:30-11 p.m. 767 Clifton Road. 404-929-6400. www.fernbankmuseum.org.
