See & Do - Film: Van Gogh December 21 2009

Tues., Dec. 29

In only nine years, Vincent van Gogh created more than 900 paintings and an artistic legacy that would linger through the centuries. A hauntingly fascinating personality, van Gogh had his share of personal eccentricities – from his abnormally close relationship with his brother Theo to his infamous severed ear. His works are now some of the most highly prized in the contemporary art world. French filmmakers Peter Knapp and Francois Bertrand explore the man’s life through his captivating paintings in VAN GOGH: BRUSH WITH GENIUS. Through Dec. 31. $8-$13. Mon.-Sat., 11 a.m., 1, 3 and 5 p.m.; Sun., 1, 3 and 5 p.m. Fernbank Museum of Natural History, 767 Clifton Road. 404-929-6400. www.fernbankmuseum.org.
