Film: Wild Ocean

Sun., Jan. 10

Fernbank Museum of Natural History presents WILD OCEAN, an inspiring IMAX documentary that dives deep into the relationship between humans and the ocean ecosystem. Wild Ocean chronicles the migration of billions of sardines up the African coast each year – an important event for not only the people who live along the shore, but also for the multiple ocean animals who rely on the sardines as a food source. With incredible underwater footage filmed by Atlanta resident D.J. Roller, the documentary brings the devastating impact our industrialized economy has had on the ocean and its inhabitants to the surface, and also presents ways in which communities are banding together to protect invaluable marine resources. Through March 11. Free-$13; free entry with donation of an old cell phone from Jan. 15-24. 767 Clifton Road. 404-929-6400. www.fernbankmuseum.org.
