Formerly Madras Saravana Bhavan, this mainly but not solely South Indian vegetarian restaurant is now part of a worldwide chain based in Chennai. New owners have made some changes and the place is better than ever. There is a huge picture window to watch chefs prepare food that is esoteric to the Western eye. The menu is colorful with two varieties of idly, spongy white cakes made of ground rice and lentils. With such great food, carnivores will never miss the lack of meat.
