For four years now, the Consulate General of France in Atlanta and the Georgia Institute of Technology have partnered together to present each fall a multidisciplinary series of events centered on innovation and designed to strengthen the French-American cooperation in the U.S. Southeast: “France-Atlanta: Together towards Innovation.” Several events are already being explored: a workshop on “Technology as a driver of economic development”, at Georgia Tech; a symposium exploring links between medical and aerospace research, at Georgia Tech; the signing of a medical agreement between Toulouse and Emory University; a traveling aerospace trade mission of 10 to 15 French aerospace suppliers / manufacturers, followed by a half-day seminar in Atlanta and B2B meetings; the Crystal Peach Awards rewarding French and American investors; a seminar on investment opportunities in France and the U.S. Southeast; a play based on the famous “Notebook of a Return to the Native Land” by Aimé Césaire, at the Rialto; an exhibition of facsimiles of maps of the United States from the 18th and 19th centuries, at Georgia Tech; a concert uniting the Orchestre National de Lorraine and Sonic Generator; a symposium on the management of public space, in cooperation with Georgia Tech; a series of events around France and the United States join forces to help francophone refugees of Atlanta”; a series of presentations in high schools in the metropolitan area of Atlanta on current humanitarian issues; and much more”
