Back before political correctness, the circus sideshow was a serious business complete with detailed advertisements marketing the living curiosities on display. To modern eyes, the work is gloriously campy and continues to inspire a set of contemporary artists. Orange Hill Art's current exhibition, STEP RIGHT UP! Sideshow Wonders and Human Curiosities, offers a glimpse into this style, exhibiting Alabama folk artist Butch Anthony's banners, which are based on the collection of originals he has amassed at his Museum of Wonder, and Kevin House, a thereminist, singer and poster artist with a passion for the sideshow. Free. Tues.-Sat., 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Through Sept. 4. 331 Elizabeth St., Suite C. 404-215-2100. www.orangehillart.com.
